Right outside of my apartment complex there is a lamppost that lights the night whenever anyone comes home late. Instead of stumbling around in the darkness this lamppost allows any passerby to see with clarity the path before them. Sometimes I imagine that this lamppost leads the way to a magical place. Stories come to life in my imagination as I walk past this lamppost.
As I walked outside today I noticed to my utter heartbreak that someone had knocked the lamp off of the post to hang dejectedly only holding on by a few wires. Who would do such a thing? Why take away such a wondrous thing as the light from a lamppost? I hope that we will not be deprived for too long of its brightness.
