Propositioned

The following story could be completely scandals, but it is not because the main participant is a 4 year old boy.

A couple of weeks ago I spent the evening with a wonderful family and as the night drew to a close it was time for the youngest boy to go to bed.  As he got ready for bed he asked me if I would sleep with him.  A smile crossed my face as I told him no.  He then asked again if I would sleep with him.  Though his begging was cute I once again had to decline.  At this point his mother started to tease me that I had now been propositioned twice to sleep with her 4 year old.  Oh goodness!  As the teasing continued he leaned over from her arms and he gave me a kiss.  He then got onto the bed, tipped over on it, and exclaimed "I've never tasted her before".  What a thing to say.  It is a good thing that he is adorable and has no idea what his is saying.

Even now I can't suppress my giggles.  What a night!

The Perfect Gift

Years ago when I was attending college I took a cake decorating class as part of my minor in Culinary Arts.  Since I took that class I was able to help out a good friend/member of my family and decorate her young son's birthday cake.

On Saturday I received a wonderful gift years in the making for my birthday as that young boy decorated a cake for me.  I was so touched and couldn't have been happier.  What a great gift and end to an amazing birthday dinner.

Hi World

It has been my goal to stay pretty vague on my blog and I have even gone so far as to not show my face.  Well all of that is coming to a screeching halt (at least the not showing my face part) because I have a very special blog post that really only works if you get to see the pictures associated to it so before I post that I would like to say hello world.

Turning Lane

Have you ever sat in the turning lane in the middle of a busy road?  While waiting to turn have you ever stopped focusing on looking for a gap between the cars and just felt the movement of the cars as the pass?  The world moving so fast around you.  It is like time stands still even with so much commotion and turmoil speeding past.  You feel like you could sit there forever and just let the world rush on by.   You realize you don't have to be caught up in the hustle.  You are okay.

My Uncle

I have an uncle that makes me feel like I am the most hilarious person in the world.  I don't have to say much, but if it is the slightest bit amusing I get a laugh from him that seems to come all the way up from his toes.  Sometimes I wish we all could be this way.  A little less serious, a little more ready to laugh.

Dad This Is For You

I know this is Mothers Day and as such I will fully declare that I LOVE MY MOM and she is amazing.  As such though I was told in uncertain terms that the below dessert is exactly what my dad has been trying to have me make for years whenever he said that he wanted turnovers.  Come to find out I have failed him every time I have made turnovers for him because they were not the below recipe.  I have now saved this recipe to my computer.  Posted it on Facebook, and it is here on my blog.  Hopefully with it in so many places I can now make my dad what he has always wanted.

Pill Popping

I have never been one to take medication.  Any medication at all. Tylenol, Aspirin, cough medicine.  You name it most likely I am not going to take it.  I would rather have my body naturally take care of itself and not rely on something other than my body to make me better.  Then came the Bronchitis.

Oh man, I wish I had gone to the doctor sooner so he could have given me antibiotics earlier.  The best part is that I didn't even go to the doctor for myself.  I went with my mother because she had a bad cough and as I sat in the exam room while the doctor listened to my mothers breathing he suddenly turned to my mom and told her that now he was going to take care of her daughter.  He had been listening to my breathing as I sat waiting for my mother and realized that I was in much worse shape than she was.

Up on the exam table he sat me, checked me over and then prescribed exactly what I needed.  A good shot in the backside and a weeks worth of antibiotics.  It is amazing how much my symptoms have turned around.  I'm not perfect, but I am leaps and bounds better.

Now I just need to learn to take true sick days when I am sick.  I went into work one day and realized that I wasn't going to make it the whole day because it was hard to talk to people over the phone while coughing and having difficulty breathing.  So I went home.  3 hours later I was back at work because I just couldn't sit at home doing nothing.  I am not good at being lazy when I am supposed to be somewhere.

Work Blows

At work we have a back room called the fundgeon.  After we closed on Thursday a couple members of my team decided to turn it into a true fundgeon.  We rock!
