Not Homeless

It is official.  I no longer need to live under an overpass come the end of May.  Tonight I signed a new contract and handed over the deposit/holding fee for my next place.  Yes, I am not homeless!  Lets see what new exciting adventures await me come June 1st.  New place, new people, new everything (except of course me and everything old that I bring with me).  All I can say is what a relief it is.  Lets move on to the next mountain to be climbed.

The Things You Learn

Today my life was enlightened.  First off I learned that chocolate is salad so therefore any diet you are on allows you to eat chocolate because salad is good for you.  I also learned that a hamburger is a salad as well.  It has the veggies, cheese, meat, and croutons all in a handy wrapper.  I have been living my life all wrong.

Smash Cake

My coworker has a son that just turned 1.  For his birthday she bought him a "smash" cake so that he could make a giant mess and smear frosting all over himself in 1 year old ecstasy.  Sadly it didn't happen.  She went to a professional bakers and the cake ended up being too hard for him to smash.  In my coworkers sadness she confided in me that the cake just wasn't what she was looking for.  During our conversation she suddenly stopped and said, "wait, you make cakes....right?"  I answered in the affirmative and suddenly an idea was hatched in her head where I needed to make her son a new smash cake.

I decided that I could do it and went to work.  The below pictures outline the process and final product for the smash cake.  I think it turned out pretty well.  If for nothing else I think it looks good enough to demolish.  I guess I will now just have to wait until Monday to find out if the birthday boy enjoyed his new cake.

Let The Work Pile On

Time is so easy to let slip away.  It feels like it has been forever since I have been on here.  Life gets busy and sometimes there seem to be too many things to do in a day even if you are doing nothing.

Work is crazy.  We are down 3 people because of differing circumstances so it is up to all of us to pick up the slack.  Good thing we are hiring.  Then it is just training and we will be up and running again.  Better for this time of stress.  I call it that we are in long term siege mode.  As long as we can last we will overcome and thrive.
